Children living in care of our Happy House have a lovely home and attend good school, whether our own primary and junior secondary or a secondary school in the local area. They have come from backgrounds of tragedy or extreme hardship and their could have been very different. But while we work so hard to deliver the very best for them, we also know that there are other children living in cmmunities who do not have access to such quality schooling. Papa Dave tells us that one of our wonderful supporters and friends, Richard Lea, has drawn our attention to a remote school where, in 2023, the children do not even have desks.Save Draft They have to sit on the ground for their lessons. We are helping Richard and his wife to change this, by making desks for the school in our workshop. Uncle Charo, our joiner, has managed to find time from his maintenance work to construct the simple desks. What a difference they will make to the children. They will take them from the floors on to seats and raise their expectations and aspirations at the same time.
