Happy birthday Happy House! It is 13 years today since the official opening of our children’s home in 2010. What a wonderful day that was, Mama Sue so happy that her long-held vision was now a reality. She wanted to ensure that the children who came to live in Happy House would have the best home, a real family, lots of love and a wonderful education. “Education is the only road out of poverty,” she would say. And how thrilled she would be to know that not only are we helping the children in our care to have the best education in our own school, we are also helping to make education easier for a school, remotely situated, where chidren were sitting on the floor to be taught. Our friend Richard Lea, who was in touch with Papa Dave about the school, asked if we could make desks – and so we have, As we showed you recently, our joiner, Charo, has been making desks with built in benches in our workshop and now they have been handed over to their head teacher and delivered to the school. Our Happy House birthday gift is to give to others and yes, Mama, we are doing just what you would have wished in being the caring and sharing family you created. We miss you Mama Sue, but you are with us always.
