Life will be easier for our hardworking cooks and help us save money too thanks to a gift to Happy House from friends in Italy.
Alessia and Valeria raised the money to buy an energy-saving jiko which makes our kitchen more efficient, healthier, and environmentally friendly.
They were thrilled to visit Happy House, where they were greeted by Papa Dave, so they could see the jiko for themselves
Cooking for a large family like ours at Happy House takes a lot of time, effort, and fuel. Traditional stoves consume huge amounts of charcoal or firewood But the energy-saving jiko changes everything, it uses far less charcoal or wood, which means big savings for us and because it produces minimal smoke it is better for both people and planet.
It also makes cooking quicker giving our cooks more time to do other tasks plus it is durable and safe and is built to last.
We owe this wonderful improvement to Alessia, Valeria, and their amazing friends in Italy, who raised the money to make it possible.
Their kindness and generosity have reached across borders to make a real difference in our daily lives.
