A new chapter starts for Diana

Happy House is incredibly proud of Diana, who has recently completed her high school studies and is now stepping confidently towards the world of work.

As part of this exciting new chapter, she has taken on an important part‑time role with us as our Reading Coordinator.

Thanks to the generous support of Renaissance Learning, we are able to use the STAR Reading assessments to accurately determine each child’s reading level.

This ensures we can tailor reading sessions to meet every child exactly where they are, helping them grow in confidence and skill at a pace that’s right for them.

Diana has been leading the latest round of STAR assessments, helping us track the children’s progress and understand how best to support them.

She has also been busy organising the computer room and guiding the children as they log on to myON, the digital reading platform that gives them access to hundreds of books matched to both their ability and their interests.

Alongside this, Diana has been inviting children to read aloud with her—encouraging fluency, confidence, and, most importantly, a real enjoyment of reading.

Reading is such a vital life skill. It opens the door to learning, imagination, and future opportunities. That’s why we are working hard to build a strong reading culture at Happy House and to nurture a genuine love of books among all our children.

During her sessions, Diana is treated just like a member of staff—helping her build confidence, take responsibility, and develop valuable workplace skills as she prepares for her future career.

We want to say a big thank you to Diana for the enthusiasm, patience, and care she brings to her role. She is already making a real difference to our younger children, and we are so proud to see her starting a new journey in life.
