A True Friend of The Happy House: Celebrating Nurse Joanne Reid

At The Happy House, we are fortunate to be supported by people whose kindness reaches far beyond words. One of those very special friends is nurse Joanne Reid, whose generosity, compassion, and professional expertise have made a lasting impact on our children, our staff, and our whole community.

Joanne, from Lytham, is married to Peter Reid, one of our dedicated charity trustees. Every Christmas, the pair travel to visit our family, bringing with them not only gifts but also the magic of the season as they take on the joyful roles of Santa and his helper.

Their annual visit is one of the happiest highlights of our year, filling our home with smiles, excitement, and a festive spirit our children treasure.

But during their stay, Joanne and Peter do so much more. For Joanne, that means using her professional nursing background to strengthen our team’s lifesaving skills. She generously provides vital first aid training for our staff—training that equips them to respond calmly and confidently in an emergency.

This week, Joanne has been working closely with our teachers, ensuring they have the practical knowledge they need to keep our children safe
