There were colourful celebrations and commemorations in Kenya and the UK’s favourite seaside town of Blackpool yesterday to mark what would have been Mama Sue’s birthday.
In Kenya they celebrated with flowers while in Blackpool it was with lights! To Papa Dave’s delight one of our good friends Eric Kroese donated many pots of flowering shrubs for the children to plant all around the Happy House gardens to make it even more beautiful than it already is.
And at the seaside, Blackpool Tower, the resort’s most famous landmark, shone out in our signature orange to mark Sue’s birthday and the 15th anniversary of Happy House opening.
Quite a number of people were down on the Comedy Carpet to capture footage of the Tower just because of Happy House. How proud Mama Sue would have been to think Blackpool, where she and Papa Dave owned a small hotel, had marked her towering achievement which has changed so many young lives.
We’d like to thank Eric for the flowers and all our friends who came to Blackpool and shared pictures and video for our very excited children who stayed up to watch it live.
