As friends Ben Heavers and Rees Flynn are today setting off to climb Western Europe’s highest peak, Mont Blanc, to raise money for for Children of Watamu’s Happy House our children send them on their way with a message and song to keep them smiling.
Their journey which will take them 4806m up to the summit of Mont Blanc, the highest mountain in Western Europe. Ben and Rees who both sponsor children at Happy House, will be away for a week as they will be training on Gran Paradiso from tomorrow, also over 4000m to acclimatise, before moving on to Mont Blanc at the weekend,
They are hoping the money they raise in donations will help build a second bungalow on our Halfway House site, to give temporary housing to young people who have been in our care at Happy House when they reach 18 but have no means of supporting themselves.
They may still be in education or vocational training and do not have family members to give them a home.
