Erick has found a creative way to make his Happy House downtime meaningful—by diving into the colorful world of Kenyan beaded bracelets.
What began as a simple curiosity has quickly blossomed into a passion rooted deeply in culture, craftsmanship, and connection.
Beadwork has long been a celebrated tradition in Kenya, especially among communities such as the Maasai, Samburu, and Turkana.
Each color, pattern, and arrangement often tells a story—of identity, community, milestones, or blessings. Inspired by this rich heritage, Erick decided to try his hand at the craft, not knowing just how rewarding the process would be.
At first, mastering the intricacies of beading wasn’t easy. From selecting harmonious color combinations to weaving the tiny beads with precision, it required patience and a steady hand. But Erick embraced both the challenge and the beauty of the learning curve and is coming up with some beautiful results.
