Morphin’s Mandarin adventure

Happy House kid Morphin is one of our school’s students to be chosen to take part on a trip to a schools’ Manadrin competition in Kenya’ capital, Nairobi.

It will be a huge adventure for Morphin who was selected by the their Mandarin teacher for the trip which will involve student taking part in the compeition and some there to observe.

Morphin will be observing and is hugely excited to to have been invited to attend by his teacher, Professor Susan.

Happy House has been leading the way by having Mandarin on the curriculum as a language for a while now, a decison made because of the increasing ties between Kenya and China.

Now government has launched a high-level initiative to incorporate the Chinese language into its national education curriculum.

The Ministry of Education has constituted a Joint Technical Committee tasked with steering the rollout of Mandarin across all levels of learning — from primary, secondary schools to tertiary institutions in partnership with Chinese educational bodies.

We wish Morphin and amazing trip and look forward to hearing about it in a future blog.
