Saturday mornings are often the time we welcome visitors to Happy House.
It’s a lovely moment in the week because most of our children are at home, and it’s also when Papa Dave and our family gather for our weekly Kids Club.
This makes Saturdays the perfect opportunity for people holidaying in Watamu to come along, meet us, and find out more about Happy House—our charity, our family, and the work we do with children who have come into our care for so many different reasons.
Last weekend, we were delighted to welcome a number of guests, some from Austria and others from Poland.
One visiting group from Poland was especially inspiring. It comprised a foster mum and the children in her care, whom she had brought to Kenya to experience life in another country—on a new continent altogether.
Their openness, curiosity, and warmth were wonderful to see and the children had a lovely time playing with our Happy house kids.
They were welcomed by Papa Dave and trustee Phil Marshall, who enjoyed sharing with them the story of Happy House and showing them the vibrant life of our home.
