Victor meets his mum

Happy House toddler, Victor, who will be two next month has been reunited with his birth mother. ,Victor, who was found abandoned in Malindi, was placed into our care by the Children’s Office in March 2019 and has become a wonderfully happy and energetic member of our family. ,We have to try to source birth certificates for our children and in doing this, our new social worker, Auntie Elina, was told by the children’s office that Victor’s young mother was contactable. ,Aunty Elina telephoned her and invited her to visit to see her son again. Obviously, with so much time passing, there was no strong bond but the mum, who was very young when she gave birth, has been told she can visit Victor again to see how their relationship develops. ,It’s important to maintain these links where possible because often, if it is in the child’s interest and they can be properly looked after and cared for, they should grow up with birth relatives. ,But it is a slow process and Victor, who was given October 20 ( Heroes Day in Kenya) as his birthday, remains at the heart of our Happy House. A little live wire if ever there was one!
