At Happy House, every child who joins our family brings with them a unique story, and today we feel privileged to share the story of our newest arrival — baby Reuben.
Born on November 2, 2025, Reuben is a tiny bundle of joy, but his journey so far has already shown tremendous resilience.
In December, he officially became part of the Happy House family after a difficult start in life.
Little Reuben was rescued at a local hospital after being abandoned by his mother in the ward. He was immediately taken into the care of the New Born Unit, where he received the medical attention he needed.
Thanks to the dedication of the hospital staff, he grew stronger each day, and once he was well enough for discharge, the authorities reached out to Happy House to offer him a safe, loving place to grow – for as long as he needs one.
The police and the Children’s Office continue to work together to try to trace his mother, whose whereabouts remain unknown.
We hope she is found and that she receives the support she may need. Until then, Reuben is exactly where he should be — in a home filled with warmth, comfort, and people who care deeply for him. Here at Happy House, Reuben is already winning hearts.
Our team and children have embraced him with open arms, ensuring he is surrounded by affection, protection, and the sense of belonging that every child deserves.
He may be small, but the impact he has already made on all of us is immeasurable. He is much loved by our staff and children.
Should his mum not be traced then he may be placed in foster care, depending on what the children’s department deems best for him.
As Reuben begins this new chapter, we look forward to watching him grow, thrive, and experience the joy of childhood in a place where he is truly cherished.
Welcome home, baby Reuben. You are loved.
°If you would like to sponsor Reuben and help support his care while he is at Happy House we would be so grateful. A donation of £20 a month would help us to enormously to ensure he has all a baby needs, You can do this by going to: https://www.childrenofwatamu.org/sponsor-a-child/ Thank you.
