Baby Pretty slept right through a joyous welcome from her new family at Children of Watamu’s Happy House.
Pretty Zawadi, the name she was given in hospital, was found abandoned by two female pasers-by in bushes near Malindi Marine Park.
They took her to the police station where she was transferred to hospital under the supervision of the Children’s Officer.
Estimated to be two weeks old, Pretty was discharged yesterday after a week of health checks. The Children’s Offcer asked Happy House to take her for long term care and protection.
Of course we are delighted to give her a loving home and family – we have pledged from the outset that we will “always have room for another.”
In our video Pretty is held by one of our older girls, Priscilla, while Auntie Elina, our social worker, speaks.
