Top achievement for Happy House duo

The Happy House flag was held aloft at the summit of Mont Blanc to mark a the highest point of a huge fundraising effort.

Ben Heavers and Rees Flynn both successfully completed Gran Paradiso and Ben went on to complete Mont Blanc too – unfortunately Rees wasn’t able to.

Mont Blanc took three days, he stayed in huts on the mountain along the way. It was a tough climb and summit day took around 10 hours.

Ben is really pleased to have completed the climb, it was an amazing experience.

Rees did brilliantly well and Gran Paradiso is a huge achievement in itself. He was a huge support for the guys in the team that did the Mont Blanc climb.

Ben was partnered with a lovely guy called Keith, who helped him hold the Happy House flag at the summit as it was too windy for Ben to hold on his own.

Ben and Rees, who with their partners each sponsor a Happy House child, will have raised thousands towards building a third bungalow on our halfway house site, which provides temporary semi-independent living accommodation for young people who must leave the care of our children’s home at 18, but are not in a situation to go it alone because of education or vocational training.

Please can help take these two remarkable men to their fundraising targets by making a donation via Justgiving, please?

Massive thanks from all the Happy House family to Ben and Rees and to all those who have supported them
