When our founder , your beloved Mama Sue, started her mission to turn her vision of creating a very special home for children in need in Kenya into a reality you supported her every step of the way
You and Sue were running your small Blackkpool hotel and while you dreamt of eventually retiring to the sunshine of Tenerife, Sue turne it all on her head when she suggested you should give up everything in the UK to live in Kenya when the Happy House opened in 2010.
In those first few years in Kenya, as a couple you survived many hardships and medical setbacks, but each was the other’s rock in every storm. You were soulmates meant to be together.
When Mama died suddenlyin 2021 you vowed to carry on, to keep her charity, Children of Watamu, and her Happy House growing and developing just as she would have wanted.
You are the first to acknowledge the huge support you’ve had from our incredible team at Happy House, led by director Rose, and our committed charity trustees.
We owe you, Papa Dave, a huge debt of gratitude and every member of our family loves their Papa.
So maybe today, put your feet up, enjoy a restful day and get ready for another year.
