With a little free time on Saturday afternoon, Abdul decided to do something very special for his memory box.
Using art supplies at Happy House along with photographs that had been lovingly emailed by his sponsor family over time, he spent the afternoon creating his own personal photo book filled with memories, messages and moments important to him.
Page by page, Abdul carefully arranged the photographs, decorated them with colours and drawings, and created something that is far more than just a craft activity.
It is a keepsake full of love, connection and memories that he can treasure for years to come.
For children growing up away from traditional family settings, having personal belongings and memory items that belong just to them can mean so much.
Simple things like printed photographs, kind messages and special memories help build identity, confidence and a sense of belonging.
It was lovely seeing Abdul so focused, proud and excited as his book slowly came together throughout the afternoon.
