Making the most of nature’s bounty

Today, Chesco is in the Happy House kitchen garden, where he has come across one of our moringa trees ready for picking.

Moringa grows well and wild here in Kenya, and its leaves are packed with nutrients, including vitamins, minerals and antioxidants, making it a great addition to a varied diet.

At the Happy House, we have our own way of enjoying it. Every day when the children return home from school, fresh moringa leaves are picked from the garden and mixed with hot water to make a warm drink.

Moringa tea has become part of the daily routine and is enjoyed right across our Happy House family, from our little ones, such as Musa, through to the young adults in our care.

There is something particularly nice about knowing that what the children are enjoying has come straight from our own garden and is truly nature’s bounty.
