Staff Celebrate Their First Digital Skills Success

You might remember that a few weeks ago, Uncle Tevin told us about the weekly computer classes being delivered online by our volunteers, Lewis and James.

Today, we are pleased to share some good news. Every auntie and uncle who participated in the first module has successfully passed their assessment, marking an important milestone in their digital learning journey.

The classes are part of the Cisco Digital Literacy programme, working towards the OpenEDG certification. Through the sessions, our staff are developing their understanding of computers, technology and the practical digital skills that are becoming increasingly important in everyday life.

In today’s video, Auntie Carol, Auntie Janet and Uncle Tevin share an update on their progress and what they have been learning.

Having completed Module One, the team is now busy revising and preparing for Module Two, building on the knowledge and confidence they have already gained.

At the Happy House, we believe learning should never stop, regardless of age. These new skills will not only help our aunties and uncles support the children with their own learning, but will also be valuable in their personal lives as more everyday activities and services move online.

We are proud of everyone who has taken part and committed their time to learning something new. Thank you also to Lewis and James for volunteering their time each week to make these classes possible.

We look forward to sharing more of their progress as they continue working towards their certification.
