Warmth, connection and new friendships

It’s always special for Happy House when new people choose to sponsor our childrem but it’s even more amazing when they take the first opportunity to fly out to Kenya and meet their new friends in person.

Julian Skipwith, Georgia McMillan and their three children did exactly that.

They spent a week in Watamu getting a feel for Kenya, getting to know Happy House, and learning more about their sponsor children, Thomas and Jesca.

During their visit, they had the chance to see daily life at Happy House and experience the warmth and joy that of our family.

Julian and Georgia’s children, Henry, Xander and India along with India’s friend Mel, loved meeting our children and discovering more about their lives.

The mix of curiosity, laughter and shared moments made the visit especially memorable for everyone involved.

Julian said they were deeply touched by the kindness they experienced in Watamu and by the genuine feeling of being welcomed wherever they went.

They were impressed by the happiness of the children at Happy House and how they care for one another like brothers and sisters, even though they may not be related by blood.

As they returned home to England, Julian shared that they would be telling all their friends about Happy House which is a place they will always hold in their hearts and that they plan visit again in the future.
