We wanted to share a little update on Baby Reuben, who is now almost nine months old and continues to be surrounded by lots of love from his Happy House family.
Reuben has cerebral palsy, which affects his movement and muscle control. He continues to attend physiotherapy twice a week in Malindi, helping to prevent stiffness in his body and encouraging his movement and development. We are already seeing some small but encouraging improvements, particularly in the movement of his hands and eyes.
Reuben has now reached another little milestone in his therapy. The clinic has advised us to begin sitting therapy, helping him gradually learn to sit more upright and use his body to support himself.
You may remember the lovely baby chair that was recently donated especially for Reuben. We use this all the time so that he can sit comfortably with us, watching everything going on and being right at the heart of our Happy House family.
For his sitting therapy, the clinic has provided a different chair which gives him slightly less support and encourages him to sit more upright. Each day, we sit Reuben in his therapy chair for around 10 minutes, following the guidance from his physiotherapist.
These may seem like small steps, but for Reuben they are important ones. We are very proud of our little boy and will continue to give him all the love, care and support he needs as he grows.
