Priscilla wants to spread the news

Priscilla is entering an exciting new stage in her life as she prepares to finish high school, experience greater independence and start thinking seriously about her future.

And her ambitions are set firmly on spreading the news as a journalist.

She recently moved into one of our halfway houses -small bungalows where our young adults get to live semi=-ndependently in same-gender groups, while still having the care, guidance and support of their Happy House family close by.

It is an important stepping stone towards independence, giving our young people a safe place to live while they continue their education and learn the everyday skills and responsibilities they will need when the time comes to live completely independently.

Priscilla is currently in Form 4, her final year of high school. With the Kenyan academic year finishing in December, these next few months are especially important as she prepares for her final exams.

But Priscilla isn’t only thinking about her exams, she is also beginning to think about what she would like to do afterwards.

As she has set her sights on a future career in journalism. We are now working with Priscilla to explore the different routes available after high school and the steps she could take to turn that ambition into reality.

For now, her focus is on working hard and doing the very best she can in her final months at school. Her Happy House family will be there to encourage and guide her as she prepares for whatever comes next.

We also want to say a very special thank you to Priscilla’s sponsors. Their love, encouragement and continued support over the years have helped her reach this important stage in her life. From completing her education to preparing for independence and dreaming about her future, you have been an important part of her journey.

Keep working hard, Priscilla, we can’t wait to see where your story takes you next!
