tephano joined our Happy House family in 2015 alongside his sisters, Purity and Jessica. Since then, we have had the privilege of watching him grow from a boy into the young man he is today.
Now, it’s an important year for Stephano as he prepares to finish high school and begins thinking seriously about what he would like to do next.
When Stephano turned 18, it was time for him to move out of our children’s home. Thankfully, through the support of our wonderful friends and supporters, we have our halfway houses which provide a stepping stone towards fully independent living.
Stephano has now been living in one of the Half Way Houses for the past two years. Here, he can enjoy greater independence while still having the care, guidance and support of his Happy House family close by.
He is currently in Form 4, his final year of high school, and is doing well. With his final exams getting closer, Stephano has been working hard and spending plenty of time revising alongside his friends.
Of course, finishing high school also means deciding what comes next!
Stephano currently has two very different careers that interest him. One is criminology, while the other is becoming a chef. Over the coming months, we’ll be helping him explore both possibilities and understand the different college courses and opportunities available to him.
It is quite something to think back to Stephano arriving at the Happy House with his sisters in 2015 and to see him now, preparing to complete high school and make his own decisions about his future.
Whatever path he eventually chooses, his Happy House family will be right behind him, encouraging him as he takes his next steps.
A huge thank you to everyone who has supported Stephano over the years and helped him reach this exciting stage in his life.
Keep working hard, Stephano an exciting new chapter is just around the corner!
