A day of environmental action

Mazingira Day, a public holiday here in Kenya dedicated to environmental conservation, tree planting and taking action to protect our planet.

To mark the occasion on October 10, our Happy House children have been busy planting seedlings, which we hope will grow into strong, healthy trees in the years ahead.

We were also fortunate to have some welcome rain, giving the children a helping hand as they planted their seedlings and providing the young plants with a good start.

At the Happy House, we believe it is important for our children to learn about looking after the environment and understand how even small actions can make a difference. Whether it is growing vegetables in our greenhouses, recycling waste or planting trees, there are plenty of opportunities to put those lessons into practice.

Mazingira Day was another opportunity for the children to work together, spend time outdoors and contribute to a greener future.

We look forward to watching their seedlings grow, knowing that the trees they planted today could still be growing at the Happy House for many years to come.
